Why the gospel?

Because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). Everyone needs to hear and believe this message, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 3:23; 6:23).

As Christians saved by the grace of God (Ephesians 2:8), we have been given the privilege and responsibility of serving as ambassadors for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20) and for the gospel (Ephesians 6:19–20). Our mission is to preach the gospel to all creation (Mark 16:15).

In closing, I leave you with these words:

Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Corinthians 5:20–21)
