This chart illustrates the two paths and the two destinies described in Matthew 7:13–14
We are all on one of two paths—either the broad way or the narrow way. There is no middle path. Death lies across both the broad way and the narrow way. The bodies of believers (those who have received Christ as their Saviour), as well as unbelievers (those who have not received Christ), go to the grave. The soul of the believer goes to heaven, while the soul of the unbeliever goes to hell.
At the rapture, the bodies of deceased believers will be raised, and those believers who are still alive will be changed. Together, they will be caught up to be with the Lord in heaven. Then they will appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ, where their lives will be examined and rewarded.
This will be followed by a period of seven years called the Tribulation, during which judgments will fall upon the earth, culminating in the battle of Armageddon. The Tribulation will be followed by the Millennium, when Christ will reign on the earth for a thousand years.
At the end of this period, the bodies of unbelievers will be raised and reunited with their souls to stand before the Great White Throne judgment. Then they will be cast into the Lake of Fire for eternal punishment. After this, God will create a new heaven and a new earth, which will exist forever.
Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
